About

I’m Guide H — the writer and editor behind this Korea travel blog.

I’ve been based in Seoul for years, and I’ve been traveling since my first solo trip to India in 2013. That mix — a working life in Korea plus an ongoing habit of trying things as a traveler myself — is the angle I bring to the posts here.

What this site covers

Travel guides for Korea, focused on the practical questions a foreign visitor actually has to solve in the first 48 hours and then over a 1–2 week trip:

  • Transportation cards (T-money, WOWPASS, Climate Card) and which one fits which trip length
  • Airport-to-Seoul routes (Incheon, Gimpo) — costs, times, when each option makes sense
  • Currency exchange and payment options in Korea
  • Seasonal travel (cherry blossoms, Seollal, monthly outfit/temperature guides)
  • Day-to-day safety, etiquette, and language basics

I don’t write about destinations or topics I haven’t personally tested or verified against a primary source.

How posts are researched

Every post here goes through the same three checks before it’s published:

  1. Lived check — anything I claim about kiosks, stations, fees, or routes is something I’ve either used myself in Korea or verified against the operator’s own site.
  2. Source check — prices, fees, operating hours, and rules are linked to the official source (operator, government agency, or the airport authority) with the month they were last verified.
  3. Update check — if a price or rule changes, the post is re-dated in lastmod so you can see how fresh the information is.

If you find something out of date, please email me — I update posts on receipt rather than on a schedule.

What I am not

  • Not a licensed tour guide. I write as a long-term resident and frequent traveler, not as a credentialed guide.
  • Not affiliated with WOWPASS, T-money, the Korea Tourism Organization, or any transportation operator. If a post links to one of their products, it’s because it’s the right answer for the question, not because of a commercial arrangement.
  • Not a translation service. Posts here are written in English first; other languages are translations and may lag the English version by a few weeks.

Disclosures

  • This site shows ads via Google AdSense. Ads do not influence which products or services I recommend.
  • Some outbound links to product pages may be affiliate links. When that is the case it is disclosed at the top of the relevant post.
  • I do not accept paid placements, sponsored reviews, or “guest posts” from third parties. Every post on this site is written or edited by me.
